PASTOR SHERROLYN RILEY

 

Rev. Riley is a graduate of Carleton, Dalhousie, and Mount Saint Vincent Universities, and Acadia Divinity College. A native of Dartmouth, NS, she taught school in Fort McMurray AB before returning to teach in the Black community of Nova Scotia.

After retirement from teaching in 1998 she pursued studies at Acadia Divinity College. She was ordained in 2003 and served as pastor of the Victoria Road United Baptist Church in Dartmouth before being called to Mahone Bay in 2009.

She has been active in church and community, and is a recipient of the Black Cultural Centre’s Wall of Honor Award, as well as the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal.

The church hosts a musical “Jam”
Every second Saturday, starting at 7:00 pm.
Country and East Coast musicians from various areas of the province are featured in this concert. The free-will offering goes to support the Church.

Every two or three months we have a luncheon after Sunday service where we celebrate the birthdays of members for the past months. It is a wonderful time of fellowship for the congregation.
